The Opportunity

The Human Resources Manager is a key role in starting up our new Dallas Fort Worth location.  The HR Manager will partner with the General Manager to build a team and the culture from the start.  Human Resources at PTR takes care of our team members as a trusted resource, ensuring their voice is heard and they are supported within our energetic team culture built on family-friendly Core Values.

The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for carrying out a variety of HR functions across the organization with a focus on talent acquisition, culture building, safety, health and wellness, on-boarding, performance management, benefits administration, and overall positive employee engagement.

This role reports to the VP of Human Resources located at the corporate office in Fort Wayne, IN.  Competitive pay based on experience and a generous quarterly bonus program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Lead all aspects of the HR function through the startup phase of our new PTR location
  • Partner with leadership team and be an integral part of building our new location by doing a variety of different types of work to make sure the overall location is highly successful
  • Lead with an engaging and outgoing attitude and a personal commitment and passion for delivering exceptional service
  • Coordinate training programs on-site and with the corporate location
  • Manage all aspects of talent acquisition: create job descriptions, sourcing candidates, interviewing and assessing candidates, offer acceptance and on-boarding
  • Build applicant pipeline thru creative partnering with internal marketing team, colleges, technical schools, recruiters, use of social media, and internet sites
  • Field questions and concerns from employees at all levels, providing answers, coaching, and directing employees to appropriate resources
  • Create new and/or evolve processes and programs to improve efficiency of the HR department and to drive an excellent employee experience
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and implement best policy practices
  • Partner with leaders in effective performance management strategies
  • Lead company events and team member engagement activities to support and build an engaged, collaborative, energized culture
  • Administer company wellness, benefits (medical, dental, vision, FMLA, Short Term Disability) and 401k programs to ensure we are educating our team members and advocating for these programs
  • Maintain employee information utilizing HRIS system
  • Manage all OSHA required safety training, including First Aid and CPR, and workers compensation in partnership with leaders

Required Skillsets

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Communication, business, or a related field
  • 7+ years’ experience in Human Resources
  • Ability to work with highly sensitive information and consistently demonstrate high level of integrity and confidentiality
  • Ability to operate independently, using critical thinking and good judgment to make decisions
  • Track record of building strong and collaborative relationships
  • Ability to balance the needs of employees and the business needs of the organization
  • Operate with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Suite of Products – Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and passionate customer service mentality
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness, initiative, and problem-solving ability
  • Tackle stressful problems that arise with a calm and supportive demeanor
  • Travel up to 50% of the time to Fort Wayne, IN for training in the first 90 days, while the facility is being built
