The Opportunity

We are excited to be expanding and opening a second operations location in Dallas – Fort Worth, Texas!  This is a unique opportunity for an experienced leader who wants to bring their talents and experience to a successful, growing company in a new location and building.  The General Manager will oversee all daily operations as well as play a key role in the growth strategy for the company.

This role is key to our continued success in providing timely, customized, and excellent customer service to our valued customers nationwide.  Under the direction of the President/Owner and in partnership with functional leaders in the Fort Wayne, Indiana corporate location, the General Manager will have an excellent opportunity to build a talented team, cultivate PTR culture and core values, lead training and development, manage safety, quality, finances, production, profitability, and inventory.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Overall management and responsibility for the location’s financial, operational and employee performance – managing to budget, hitting set targets, supporting standard operating procedures, and guiding/delivering excellent quality service.
  • Communicate and embody the company’s CORE values through highly effective leadership, employee development and active partnership with PTR’s Fort Wayne, IN headquarter location.
  • Develop and implement reporting tools and mechanisms that effectively communicate KPI’s and ensure accountability for performance.
  • Manage the team and operations at our Fort Worth facility, ensure the success of the team by effectively staffing this location for rental check-in’s, reconditioning, upfits, production, and outside service repair work to be completed.
  • Create, coordinate, and deliver training on new and established company best practices.
  • Take pride and ownership of the quality of equipment leading the PTR facility while providing excellent customer service.
  • Drive innovation through the development, implementation, and maintenance of best practices, operational and service efficiency.
  • Provide recommendations and solutions through analyzing location profit & loss statement and performance data to provide strategic recommendations.
  • Consistently meet project deadlines and manage multiple vehicle builds at once, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Manage and negotiate contracts for vendors including body shops, dealerships, and shop supply vendors.
  • Ensure parts availability by managing the materials team driving efficiency in all purchasing, shipping, and receiving.

Required Skillsets

  • 10+ years of experience in mid to senior level operational, service or fleet management role.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field.
  • Experience in manufacturing, upfit, utility equipment, rental, or automotive industry preferred.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and sustain a culture of continuous process improvement and waste elimination that yields improvements to quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite of Products – Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint, ERP (Microsoft Dynamics experience preferred)

Travel Requirements: 20% or less annually once location is up and running.  50% travel to Fort Wayne, IN location for training prior to location build completion.
